Peacock Moss / Selaginella Uncinata

Selaginella uncinata gets its common name “peacock moss” from its iridescent , blueish-green foliage. This is the perfect plant to add to your terrariums or vivariums, as it needs to stay moist in a high humidity environment. In order to maintain it’s iridescent colors, you will want to grow this plant in indirect light, even shaded areas will work well for it. Too much light or too strong of light will cause the foliage to scorch and loose its blueish-green iridescence. This is such a quick grower and easy for any beginner or experienced terrarium, vivarium, or houseplant hobbyist. Due to our selaginella uncinata being use to a high humidity growing environment, you will need to acclimate it to your own growing environment. We recommend growing your plant in a high humidity, enclosed container, terrarium, or vivarium to ensure the best growth.
Your cutting will come in its very own dome cloche filled with spaghnum moss to act as a temporary high humidity growing environment.
